President Miller & Such

Post  ThatGuy on Sun May 11, 2008 1:07 am

President Miller...
A man who acts as a C.E.O. at a private college.
A man who thinks students don't matter, because he already got our money, and we're worth nothing more.
A man who thinks his job is to serve his employees, the teachers, who still don't have an opinion that matters.
A man who thinks because there is an agreement, nothing can be done otherwise.
A man who thinks THAT, is an excuse.

I don't see how destroying a building is MORE BENEFICIAL when dealing with an overcrowded private college.
Yes, it will take MORE money to fix it, than it would to destroy it.
That's obvious.
But with professors and students complaining about the lack of space, how does it make sense to destroy it?
Why can't he cancel the deal?
I'm sure it is possible, and he is just being stubborn.
Having Arnold as an EXTRA building for students' use, or faculty overflow, would do wonders on our campus.
Clubs, lounges, study rooms, new computer lab?, new dining facility?
The possibilities for keeping it are endless.
Putting a field of green grass, with or without a pond or fountain would contribute nothing compared to what could be done with an extra building.
I'm not a hippie, nor do I discriminate against.
This doesn't make sense to me.
We have a president, who has no job with us after 14 days from now, who is making this decision.
He is the top honcho, and is using that title to make this "unchangeable" decision stay as is.
I see there is nothing we can do.
Maybe there is, but I don't think anything is really probable of actually making a difference.
I just hope this empty space between Golisano and Bresee isn't another "Frisbee Field"
A fucking empty space, used nothing more than a central position to gather.
A fountain would be "pretty"
A pond would be more a trouble than it's worth.
I still think a small cafe could do alot of good. Weird position on campus, but regardless...

p.s. the people trying to sign off AGORA, and doing it incorrectly, are fucking hilarious.
I am greatly entertained by the many attempts of the people at this college that some have called uneducated.
How many emails have to be sent out explaining the same exact procedure of how to sign off, and still people can't do it right.

You don't have to be computer savvy to actually read the eight-some-odd emails that tell you EXACTLY what to do. People not only emailed the wrong place, but typed in the wrong things as well. Some people even tried multiple times. I find it funny that people can complain about, and try to do, something that they didn't even take the time to read. If you REALLY didn't want the emails to "crowd" your inbox, you would take the time to read how to end it, would you not?

Insults

Well I'm not saying I had a problem doing it..i actually did not have a problem reading the emails and if I did I know how to "sign off".I Concur, yes, people should have taken the time to read it and figure out how to stop crowding their inbox, it was rather annoyin to me when i saw the things people were saying about the issue with Arnold and not caring and also the rude messages about crowding their inbox......However, If you notice people sent out several different ways to "sign off" so can you blame some people for being a bit confused?

I don't balme them in that sense, no. I'm not an asshole. But the people that were trying to sign off, and wrote a message in the email, or had their fancy signatures attached, those are the people I was refering to. None of the emails telling how to sign off "correctly" said anything about writing an essay telling the imaginary person at the imaginary desk chair to sign them off from the listserv.
